FirstNet®, Built with AT&T, the dedicated communications platform for first responders, healthcare professionals, and the extended public safety community, collaborated with the American Nurses Association (ANA), Al Roker Entertainment, and HealthCom Media, to produce a multi-channel network television event that recognized the profound role nurses play in healthcare and the positive impact they have on our nation, especially in times of crisis. The special, “American Nurse Heroes,” features inspiring true stories of nurses who selflessly provide expert, compassionate care on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a moderated conversation with a panel of mental health industry experts and advocates, Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) fellow, Shawna Murray-Browne, LCSW-C, discussed the unique mental healthcare challenges faced by underrepresented communities. During the event, “Decolonizing Mental Health,” the panel discusses obstacles plaguing BIPOC mental health care and what steps have been taken – and what more must still be done – to create far-reaching accessibility.
